ASUS to extend presence in North India.
Consumer notebook vendor ASUS announced the launch of its first exclusive store here as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in north India.

"Having being recognised as one of the top 50 global cities, Chandigarh was an essential choice to mark our presence," Kumar Tanksale, manager, retail, system business group ASUS India, told Business Standard. Tanksale also said, "The northern region has a huge potential. Currently, we have five exclusive stores in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. We have plans to increase our presence through exclusive stores, shop-in-shop and multi-brand stores. We will open 14 stores in the next two quarters in these states."

"Out of the total, seven will be in Punjab, six in Haryana and one in Himachal Pradesh."

ASUS is a consumer notebook vendor and maker of motherboards. A leading enterprise in the new digital era, ASUS designs and manufactures products that includes motherboards, graphics cards, optical drives, displays, desktop and all-in-one PCs, notebooks, netbooks, servers, multimedia devices, wireless solutions, networking devices, tablets and smartphones.

It has more than 12,500 employees in the world. Overall, the company has 122 exclusive stores across India and has plans to take it to 200 in the next two quarters. Company revenue for 2013 was approximately $14 billion.
