Jeddah to have 3 new cities.
Jeddah Municipality announced its plans to construct three new cities - a residential, recreational, and an industrial city, according to a report by Saudi Gazette.

The municipality in cooperation with Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company plans to develop the infrastructure of these cities, which will be located around Gulf Salman, Al-Aslaa Valley, and Asfan city.

The area will be fully supported with all the necessary facilities and services of a model residential area which includes educational, religious, health, sports, recreational, and general services facilities covering an area of 3 million square meters.

The Gulf Salman project includes 1,250 residential buildings, offering 25,000 residential units. Only 11 percent of the area is allocated for commercial buildings, 52 percent is allocated for residential land, and 37 percent is allocated to roads, open land, recreational facilities, and parking lots.

Al-Aslaa Valley Project will cover 130 million square meters in east Jeddah consisting of recreation, education, health, and sports facilities, parks and natural reserves.

Currently, the first stage of the industrial Asfan city project is nearly finished and covers a total area of 5 million square meters. This area will have 2,095 industrial facilities, 183 warehouses and 22 factories, in addition to 385 stores and showrooms.
