₹2,250-cr. drinking water project to be launched soon.
A drinking water project costing ₹2,250 crore for ensuring drinking water supply to villages of five taluks of Chitradurga, Ballari and Tumakuru districts will be launched soon.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday chaired a meeting with representatives of Tumakuru district and officials of the Water Resources Department and said the project would ensure water supply to villages of Challakere, Molakalmuru, Pavagada, Koodligi, and Hospet taluks of the three districts.

Mr. Siddaramaiah also held a meeting with the new Sugar Minister Mohan Kumari and directed the Pandavapura Sugar Factory in Mandya to release ₹6.77 crore for sugarcane growers, who had supplied cane to the factory. He also directed the officials to release ₹2 crore for the commencement of cane crushing activity. It was decided to hand over the running of the Srirama Cooperative Sugar Factory of K.R. Nagar in Mysuru to a private party on lease.

Following the demand from Bidar district in-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre, the Chief Minister directed the Finance Department to give government guarantee of ₹10 crore for running the factory.
