|After Hyderabad, the Warangal city will have an outer ring road soon. Chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao would lay the foundation of the prestigious project on October 20 during his visit here. He would also lay foundations for a series of development projects.|
The chief minister has sanctioned ₹669 crore for the outer ring road (ORR). The city will have 69-kilometre road of which the National Highways will take up 29 kilometre from Rampur to Damera. The rest 40 kilometre would be taken up by State agencies. It would connect Rampur, Mallakkapalli, Kondaparthi, Singaram, Bollikunta, Vanchanagiri, Dharmaram, Bodduchinthapalli, Mogilicherla, Kothapet and Damera.
It would help bring in fast paced development of Warangal city once completed. Planning officer of KUDA, Ajith Reddy said the intersections around the city would witness development. However, it would take at least two years to take a shape as it involved land acquisition and call for tenders.
Actually the project was to take off last June but owing to slow pace of works, it was delayed.
Now Chief Minister KCR has decided to launch three new projects in Warangal city – ORR, and road overbridge near Kazipet and another prestigious project – the Textile Park on the city outskirts.
The Kakatiya Mega Textile Park is deemed to be the biggest one in the country and likely to provide employment to 10,000 people. It is coming up at Geeskunda mandal.
Mayor N. Narender said the State government has sanctioned ₹300 crore for the municipal corporation to take up various development works.
The ORR and textile park works would intensify the city’s development.
