|The Railway Board has kept the Kakinada-Pithapuram railway line project in a 'frozen' state, while the Andhra Pradesh government is making efforts to ensure that the project gets realised, according to South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav.|
After finding that the railway line project was economically not viable, the Railway Board decided to keep it aside, he told the media after inspecting the Kakinada railway station.
However, the project was not shelved, he said.
Referring to the Kotipalli-Narasapuram railway line works, Mr. Yadav said preparatory works were in progress and the project was likely to be completed within three years.
