|Foundation stone was laid for the new office complex of the Urban District Collector, on 10 acres, set to be built at an estimated ₹38 crore, on Wednesday.|
Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, R&B Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao, Finance Minister Eatela Rajender and others took part in the function.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Srihari said that Warangal district was witnessing rapid development under the TRS regime. The new Collector’s office complex would be a feather in the cap. “During the 44 months of TRS ruling, the State has witnessed unprecedented development, be it in physical infrastructure or welfare measures. The Chief Minister Mr. KCR is kind enough to sanction funds for the new integrated Collector’s office complex to Warangal Urban District,” he said.
The complex will have a Collectorate block, auditorium, plaza, lawn, internal roads, septic tank and sump, security cabin and electrical substation. It is estimated to be completed in 12 months.
Several buildings, including the one built during Nizam era, are in dilapidated state, which warrants that the new integrated building be built.
