AP CM lays foundation for Medical Tech Park.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu recently laid foundation stone for A P Medical Technology Park, India's first dedicated medical devices manufacturing park.

The park will come up in an area of 226 acres of land allotted by the State at Nadupuru in Peda Gantyada mandal. Over 200 units are expected with a potential to provide employment to to 25,000 people.

Mr. Naidu said this is the first of its kind park in South Asia. The project to be implemented by AP Med Tech Zone will bring down the cost of healthcare substantially by reducing dependency on imported devices and equipment.

An investment of Rs. 225 crore will be made to create in-house common facilities like scientific labs and warehouses. Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas said 38 firms have intimated expression of interest to set up units in the park.
