Bangladesh: Siemens wins substation contract

Dhaka: The Siemens Consortium Gallamari Project has signed an agreement with the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh to design, supply and install a 132/33kV gas insulated switchgear substation at Gallamari in Khulna.
The agreement, signed to this effect on August 16, involves six million euros (BDT 57.6 crore), which has been financed by the Asian Development Bank under the West Zone Power System Development Project, said a press release.
Mohammed Salim, company secretary of the PGCB, Hubertus Boesten, director of power division of the Siemens Bangladesh, and Ursula Wolf, commercial project manager for high voltage substations of the Siemens AG, signed the contract on behalf of their respective companies.
ABM Harunur Rashid, managing director of PGCB, Farid Uddin Ahmed, its deputy general manager (project-2), Md Nazim Uddin, its deputy general manager (design), Juergen Drewitzki, technical senior manager of high voltage substations of Siemens AG, Md Rezaul Atam, executive engineer of Siemens Bangladesh, and other high officials from both companies were present during the contract signing.
