Amardeep Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to assess key infrastructure projects in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Delhi, and Jharkhand. The review covered 17 major projects, with a total expenditure of ₹13,501 crore.

The meeting focused on expediting issue resolution through enhanced inter-ministerial and state coordination via the Project Monitoring Group (PMG). Among the key projects discussed was the ₹9,623 crore Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway, along with nine projects under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The review also highlighted the establishment of new National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in strategic locations to bridge regional disparities in technical education.

Bhatia emphasized the need for a proactive approach in resolving bottlenecks and urged private stakeholders to leverage the PMG mechanism for faster implementation. The review is expected to accelerate project execution and drive economic growth in the four states.
