Kolkata Metro to increase services.

With effect from August 1, 2016, Metro services will be increased to 300.

The 22 new services will be inducted during the evening peak hours. At present there are 278 services between Dum Dum and Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunge) stations.

The frequency of trains, which is 8 minutes during peak hours in the evenings, is expected to come down to 6 minutes.

The services between Dum Dum and Noapara have also been increased from 86 to 98 from Monday to Friday.

Senior PRO, Indrani Banerjee, added that 13 new rakes from Daliyan in China will be added to the Kolkata Metro starting from June next year. The coaches will have ultra-modern facilities.
