Maruti sets up sixth driving institute at Dehradun
New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has announced setting up of its sixth driver training centre at Dehradun. The institute is being set up in partnership with Uttarakhand Government.
The company has already set up such institutes at Delhi, Haryana and Gujarat. While the company’s Delhi institutes are operational, the Haryana and Gujarat institutes are in advanced stages of being operational and will be formally opened in the coming weeks, said a Maruti statement.
“I am confident our initiatives towards road safety will have an impact on the society and make the roads safer. I am doubly excited that this project would also enhance employability of unemployed youth,” said Mr Shinzo Nakanishi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Maruti’s first driver training centre in the national capital has trained 4 lakh drivers, most of whom were included commercial drivers.
The company also runs 47 Maruti driving schools across the country which has trained over 41,000 car learners.
