B&R plans to enter infra automation segment
Mumbai: B&R India is set to enter the infrastructure automation segment with a special focus on railway systems, water treatment and power distribution management.
It has been operating in the industrial automation segment for the last 10 years. The company plans to enter infrastructure automation with system integrators, who will use B&R products to set up automation systems for infrastructure projects and firms.
B&R Industrial Automation is an Austria-based company having operations in 60 countries. It manufactures products such as industrial PC, mobile panels, I/O systems, power supply devices, linear, servo motors etc. It has so far been working in segments such as paper and printing, metal, food and beverages, textile, plastics, packaging, robotics, energy and automotive.
As infrastructure development is a key focus in the country, the company wants to have a presence in this particular segment as well. Speaking to reporters, B&R India Managing Director PV Sivaram said, 'At initial stage, we will target industries such as water treatment, power distribution management including load management and substation automation.
We will enter this segment through system integrators. We aim to develop a strong product line designed to deliver specific functions.'
The company would also focus on railway systems, municipal corporations through its industrial PC product line. The company, headquartered in Pune, has seven offices in India and registered 25 per cent growth for the 10 years of its operations in India.
