Centre to Launch 3 New Multi-State Dairy Co-ops for Sustainable Growth.

The Indian government is set to establish three new multi-state cooperative societies aimed at fostering sustainable growth within the dairy sector and boosting farmers' incomes. The decision was made during a high-level meeting convened by Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.

The new cooperatives will focus on distinct, yet interconnected, areas vital for the future of the dairy industry. The first society will concentrate on animal feed production, disease control, and artificial insemination, crucial for improving livestock health and productivity. The second will be dedicated to developing innovative cow dung management models, promoting environmentally friendly practices and potentially new revenue streams for farmers. Finally, the third cooperative will explore the circular use of dead cattle remains, emphasizing resource optimization and waste reduction.

The meeting, attended by key officials including Cooperation Secretary Ashish Bhutani and Animal Husbandry Secretary Alka Upadhyaya, highlighted the government's strategic vision.

Addressing the attendees, Minister Shah emphasized the broader goals of this initiative. "As we move towards White Revolution 2.0," Shah stated, "our goal should not only be to expand dairy cooperatives and make them efficient and effective but also to create an ecosystem of dairy that is sustainable and promotes a circular economy." He further stressed the importance of integrated cooperative networks to enhance farmers' incomes, where "most of the work is done through mutual cooperation and collaboration among cooperatives."

This move signifies the government's commitment to modernizing the dairy sector, promoting environmental sustainability, and ensuring economic benefits for farmers across the nation.
