Nangarhar to get $3-mn worth irrigation projects

Jalabad: Water irrigation project worth three million US Dollars will be initiated in Nangarhar province, said provincial Director of Irrigation.

Haji Syed Rahman added that another water irrigation project is due to be implemented next week with 1.8 million US dollars donated by Japan, the project will be implemented by UN Habitat in Jalalabad.
The mentioned project will bring 45 km barren land under irrigation.

Syed Rahman said that he has requested the municipality to provide space for water storage and he hoped that the said department will soon provide space.

Besides this water irrigation with 1.2 million US dollars financial support of the World Bank will also be implemented in Jalalabad soon. The project will cover 29 km area which would solve many problems of residents.

Around 300000 people will benefit from the irrigation projects and their problems will be solved.
