NTPC Plans 244 GW Capacity by 2037 with ₹7 Lakh Crore Investment.

Power major NTPC has outlined a roadmap to achieve an installed capacity of 244 gigawatts (GW) by 2037, which the company estimates will require a capital expenditure of ₹7 lakh crore.

As the largest power generation company under the Ministry of Power, NTPC currently meets about one-fourth of India’s electricity demand through a mix of conventional and renewable energy sources.

As recently, the company’s group-level operational capacity stood at over 85,000 MW, bolstered by an addition of 359.58 MW from various solar projects of its subsidiaries in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
