RUJ Group to set up Rs. 200-cr hospital in Jaipur.
After strengthening its presence in Swiss precision technology for medical devices, Rajasthan-based RUJ Group has announced its foray into the hospital space.
Announcing plans for a 150-bed multi-super-specialty hospital in Jaipur, Nalin Joshi, Managing Director, RUJ Hospitals Pvt Ltd., said the group would invest Rs. 150- 200 crore over the next two years for the hospital. The funding will be met through internal accruals of the group.
The hospital, which will be ready in two years, will provide specialty healthcare services, including critical care, CTVS, cardiology, neuroscience, oncology, and gastroenterology, with a backup of nephrology, and endocrinology among others.
“It will deliver mainly to the west zone of Jaipur, which lacks multi-super speciality services and care. We are also building it on the concept of Green Hospital Building,” Joshi said.
The RUJ Group is founded by the Switzerland-based billionaire scientist-turned-entrepreneur Rajendra Joshi and his wife Ursula Joshi. The Group has invested in excess of Rs. 1,000 crore so far in India across sectors, including Skill Development University, electrical projects besides a Swiss precision and assembly plant at Jaipur. As per an industry estimate, by 2022, healthcare market in India is expected to reach $372 billion, backed by strong demand for better healthcare services, increasing acceptance of insurance and government’s thrust to improve healthcare standards.
Rajasthan accounts for high out-of-pocket expenses with about 75 per cent of total expenditure of healthcare being borne by individuals. Residents of the State also have to travel to metro cities for quality treatment. The super-specialty hospital being set up by the RUJ Group on 3.5 acres is expected to ease the situation, a statement said.
