"Steel Exchange India Ltd Joins Hands with APEDB via MoU"
Steel Exchange India Limited (SEIL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to explore the proposed expansion of its integrated steel plant by 1 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) for the production of green steel and alloy products.
In a parallel development, SEIL’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SEIL Infra Logistics Limited, has signed a separate MoU with APEDB to collaborate on the development of a Multi-Modal Logistics Park and General Cargo Terminal to support the planned steel plant expansion.
These MoUs mark strategic initiatives by SEIL and its subsidiary to enhance production capacity while promoting environmentally sustainable and integrated industrial development. The agreements are non-binding and serve as frameworks for mutual cooperation and evaluation of project implementation modalities between the parties.
The proposed initiatives are expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s industrial infrastructure and contribute to sustainable growth in the state’s steel and logistics sectors.
