Akamai Technologies has opened a new security operations centre in Bengaluru.

Locating resources close to the point of attacks provides us with an advantage, said Sidharth Malik, Managing Director of Akamai Technologies.

Company officials pointed out that many attacks are emerging from Asia, adding that over 22 per cent of the recorded denial of services attacks were from China in the first quarter of this year.
