Centre to consider Biotech Park in Vizag after DPR.

The Centre will take a decision on sanctioning a Biotechnology Park and Incubation Centre in Visakhapatnam only after receiving a detailed project report from the State government. A letter has been sent to Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker on April 27 by Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology K. Vijay Raghavan for which the response is being awaited.

In response to a representation submitted by MP K. Haribabu, Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan said they had asked the State to submit the DPR to find out feasibility of the project. He said DPR was a pre-requisite to consider sanctioning a pilot project like this.

Mr. Harsh Vardhan said appropriate action would be taken after receiving the DPR.
