Dawnay Day to set up hotels in S India
New Delhi: Dawnay Day Hotels India plans to soon open four-star category hotels in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore and Nagpur, the Managing Director, Mr Madeep S. Lamba, announced.
In an informal interaction with newspersons, Mr Lamba said the hotels in South India would have around 150 rooms each. “We are in various stages of tying up for the properties in South India and these should become operational in 2010-11.
The properties like the others being planned around the country will be in the city centre,” Mr Lamba said. The promoters plan to charge between Rs 4,500 and Rs 5,000 a night at each of these hotels. The chain also launched ‘Ten hotels by Dawnay Day’ which is the name that all its hotels in India will bear.
The first hotel is scheduled to open in Jaipur later this year, while the next in Ahmedabad will open next year, officials said.
