Foxconn seeks help from Maharashtra to set up facility.

Original device manufacturer Foxconn has sought help from Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis for setting their manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

Senior executives of Taiwanese major held a closed door meeting with the Chief Minister recently for ironing out outstanding issues relating to land acquisition.

An official in the Chief Minister’s Office said that help is being provided to the company for identifying large contiguous industrial land parcels in the State.

Last February, Foxconn during the Make in India event had entered into an MoU with Maharashtra Government for setting up a manufacturing facility with an investment of ₹30,000 crore and 50,000 job potential.

Chief Minister’s Office in a series of tweets said that Simon CP Hsing and Vincent Huang of Foxconn met with Fadnavis and reiterated their plans to set up the facility and investment committed in the MoU.

It also added that Maharashtra is the most-favoured destination.
