"GDA Board Approves Master Plan '31, Envisions Creation of 7 Influence Zones for the City"
The Master Plan 2031 for Ghaziabad, integrating individual plans for Ghaziabad, Loni, and Modinagar/Muradnagar, received approval from the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) board on Saturday. The unified plan, aimed at streamlining and facilitating planned development, is expected to be effective by the end of January. GDA Vice Chairperson RK Singh stated that the plan would now undergo review by the town and country planning department's director and subsequently be sent to the state government for notification. The comprehensive plan had faced challenges and rejections in the past but overcame hurdles to move forward. The draft had been held up in September due to the exclusion of the Duhai Namo Bharat station-cum-depot from the transit-oriented development (TOD) zone. After addressing objections and inviting public feedback, the plan now includes two special development areas (SDAs) and seven influence zones along the Namo Bharat corridor. The Master Plan 2031, spanning 20 years, encompasses crucial aspects of planned urban development in the region.
