GVK EMRI signs MoU with NTRI Australia to improve trauma care.

The emergency management services provider GVK EMRI has signed a memorandum of understanding with National Trauma Research Institute, Australia to improve emergency trauma care services in the country.

The memorandum was signed by GVK Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of GVK and Russel Gruen, Director, NTRI in the presence of the Australian Prime Minister, Tony Abbot and G.V Ramana Rao, Head, EMLC & Research.

This partnership further enhances the network of emergency transport services managed by GVK. The expertise of NTRI Australia is expected to develop regional trauma systems that provide injured people with lifesaving care at the roadside, rapid transport and timely treatment of their injuries.

The collaboration aims at developing model regional trauma systems linking ambulance and hospital services, developing protocols to guide treatment and transport of patients and offer training in trauma care.

GVK Reddy in a statement said, 'The technical know how of NTRI Australia combined with the experience of GVK EMRI in Indian conditions will accelerate developments in trauma care. Through this initiative we will be able to contribute towards saving many more lives.'

This development of trauma systems would ensure seamless and effective care across the country with the ability to address the needs of the community in terms of trauma care in case of any individual trauma emergencies and multi-casualty incidents.

The GVK EMRI provides emergency care services through a single toll free number 108. On an average, GVK EMRI 108 ambulances respond to over 23,000 emergencies every day. Till recent, they have responded to over 29 million emergencies. It operates in 15 states and two Union Territories.
