Hindustan Power Projects Pvt Ltd. invests Rs. 400 crore in eco-friendly technologies.

Hindustan Power Projects Pvt Ltd. recently said it has invested Rs. 400 crore at its Anuppur facility in Madhya Pradesh, to introduce environment friendly technologies to check pollution levels.

'The company has introduced new age, environment-friendly technologies to ensure zero discharge from its Anuppur thermal plant. Considering agricultural activities in the area, the thermal arm has used advanced electrostatic precipitator (ESP) technology at a cost of Rs. 400 crore,' Hindustan Power Projects Ltd. Chairman Ratul Puri said in a release.

The filtration device removes fine particles like dust and smoke from flowing gases using the force of an induced electrostatic charge, minimally impeding flow of gases through the unit, the release said.

In addition to this, high concentration slurry disposal has been adopted to dispose of ash from the 1,200 MW Anuppur thermal plant, the release said.

Hindustan Power Projects Ltd. is one of the biggest integrated power companies in India operating in four major verticals of the energy sector, namely solar power, hydro power, thermal power and mining services.
