IFR: Parks on Beach Road to be Renovated.

Keeping in view the ensuing International Fleet Review (IFR-2016), the parks on the RK Beach will be renovated. The renowned Gokul Park, Children’s Park and the area from RK Beach to the Naval Coastal Battery will be decked up. GVMC commissioner J Pravin Kumar asked the officials to renovate the parks by November end.

On inspection to various areas of the city, Pravin Kumar asked the officials to renovate the Children’s Park and the Gokul Park and the isolated area near the RK Beach Road initially.

He has asked the officials to renovate the park equipments and to maintain greenery in the park.

The development of parks includes converting service road into B.T Road and decorating walls with paintings. Pravin asked the officials to complete the renovation works by November-end at any cost.

At present, the Gokul Park wears a rundown and ugly look with almost half of it eroded by the sea and the area became a hub of drunk people and anti-socials.

GVMC sources said that initially the focus would be on the RK Beach and the parks near it since the major events of the IFR would take place there.

The parks near the Park Hotel and the green belts will also be renovated in the second phase. The central median on the Beach Road will also get a facelift.

The commissioner has also inspected the central median beautification works from the NAD Junction to Maddilapalem.

Pravin Kumar asked the officials to continue watering the plants without fail, either by using motor pumps or water tankers.

The beautification works include fencing the medians and plants, painting traffic islands and major junctions.
