Ind-Barath commissions power plant.

Ind-Barath Energy (Utkal) Ltd. has successfully commissioned the first unit of its coal-fired power plant at Sahajbahal near Jharsuguda.

The first light up of the plant is continuing for more than 130 hours without any break as against the minimum requirement of 72 hours.

In the 1st phase, 384.6 MW thermal power has been generated successfully from unit-1 of 350 MW capacity. Power generation from the second unit also of 350 MW capacity, will be started shortly.

The power generation process for 350 MW unit commenced earlier this month, which has been materialized to-day. IBEUL had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Odisha government on February 7, 2009.

Though the power generation process was a bit delayed, Murlidhar Mishra, president (communication & administration) of IBEUL termed it a great achievement.

IBEUL being successfully operated is expected to contribute to help tide over the state energy scarcity situation as the state will get its share of 12 per cent thermal power.
