JK Cement to Build New Jaisalmer Plant with ₹3,000 Crore Investment.
JK Cement Ltd has announced it has started construction on a new greenfield cement plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, with an investment of approximately ₹3,000 crore. The facility, which spans 525 acres, is targeted for completion by early 2027.
The company stated the plant’s location was strategically chosen near limestone reserves to secure a long-term supply of raw materials. This placement will also provide easy access to high-demand markets in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Haryana, leveraging the company’s established dealer and distributor network.
Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement Ltd., commented on the project, calling it "an important step in JK Cement’s journey of growth." He added that the facility will not only "strengthen our production capabilities but also create new opportunities for employment, skill development, and regional progress." The company plans to generate both direct and indirect employment and contribute to social infrastructure development in the area.
The new plant will incorporate the latest technologies, including waste heat recovery systems, to enhance energy efficiency and reduce its carbon footprint.
Madhavkrishna Singhania, CEO & Joint Managing Director, emphasized the project’s significance, stating, "This facility is not just an expansion of our production capacity, but a symbol of our vision to be a trusted leader in the cement industry." He noted that the plant will help the company serve customers more efficiently and create value for stakeholders and the local community.
The new unit is expected to strengthen JK Cement's production network, enabling it to meet the rising demand for cement driven by government infrastructure projects, housing initiatives, and industrial development.
