Karnataka Plans Electric Vehicle City on Bengaluru Outskirts.
The Karnataka government plans to establish an electric-vehicle (EV) city near Bengaluru as part of its push to strengthen the State’s electric mobility ecosystem.
The proposal was discussed during a high-level industry consultation meeting held on Thursday by the Department of Electronics, IT and Biotechnology, which was chaired by IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge.
Over 30 companies from the EV and battery technology sectors participated in the meeting, including major manufacturers, component suppliers, and mobility start-ups, signaling strong industry interest in supporting the initiative.
The EV city is expected to serve as a hub for manufacturing, innovation, and adoption of electric mobility solutions, further cementing Karnataka’s position as a leader in the country’s green mobility transition.
