Kuwait's businesses show interest in Karachi Port projects

Karachi: Kuwaiti entrepreneurs have shown keen interest in some major projects to be constructed at Karachi Port. A high level Kuwaiti delegation headed by Saad Mohammed Al-Saad, Chairman and Managing Director of National Industries Group of Kuwait visited Karachi Port Trust (KPT) on Friday.

The delegation has shown keen interest in some of the major development projects carried out by KPT, particularly in the Cargo Village, The Port City and Port Shopping District projects.

The delegation was particularly impressed by the recently inaugurated Port Fountain at Oyster Rocks, and observed Karachi Port an area of rich investment opportunity.

Saad Mohammed Al-Saad said that he was very much impressed with the workings by the modern management of the port. He said he would soon make a trip again to Pakistan for a more detailed study of the discussed projects.

In a statement issued here, the visit was in connection with President Pervez Musharraf's visit to Kuwait last month.

The Chairman KPT, Vice Admiral Ahmad Hayat received the Kuwaiti delegation. A detailed presentation was also given on various projects of KPT.
