Karachi: A team of Arthur D. Little of Malaysian consultants hired to prepare the master plan of Gwadar Port and its related infrastructure visited Port Qasim on Wednesday morning.
Chairman, Port Qasim Authority, Vice Admiral Asad Qureshi briefed the delegation about the port activities as well as PQA's operations as a landlord port, says PQA statement.
He outlined 25 years of Port Qasim when it commenced its operations and explained the significance of the landlord concept towards the port's development.
Asad Qureshi pointed out that it would be more feasible if development infrastructure was first carried out before allotment of land for industries. This would expedite the operational activities, he said.
He said 91 industrial units were operational at Port Qasim's industrial zone and more were in pipeline. The delegation appreciated the functioning of PQA under the leadership of Asad Qureshi.
