Maldives sets up electrical network in Nolhivaram

Male: The HDH Nolhivaram Office has revealed that work on implementing a new electrical network has begun with a projected budget of MRf 1 million.

According to the Island Chief the work has been contracted to an outside party and he said that the new network would solve the problems that people faced due to lack of a proper power plant.

Island Chief further said that two generator sets of 80 KVA each were used to provide power for the entire island. He also said that the work on installing distribution boxes was under way.

Island Chief said that the existing cable network posed many problems and the people of the island decided to go for a new power plant.
