PSG-INDA holding workshop on non-woven textiles
Coimbatore: A workshop on non-woven/technical textile that will offer technology know-how for the entrepreneurs seeking to take up product manufacture will be held at the PSG College of Technology here on July 5-6.
It is to be held in support of the US-based association of non-woven fabrics industry (INDA).
India has huge growth potential for non-woven/technical textile consumption as the country with a demand of 1.20 lakh tonnes (lt) of non-woven textiles produces only 50,000 tonnes. It imports about 30,000 tonnes of technical/non-woven materials at high import cost.
New Opportunity
This could be turned into opportunity by the Indian entrepreneurs by investing in new ventures only through know-how transfer and understanding the market demands, said Mr Mallyah, INDA representative in India, adding that the workshop would throw light on specific technology, products sought after by the market.
