UPPCL, Torrent Power teamup for power distribution

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has signed a deal with Torrent Power Limited for power distribution in Kanpur and Agra.

Under the agreement Torrent will work as a franchisee in the 2 cities and manage power lines and realise revenue. It will take over the distribution system by August 15th.

UPPCL will also appoint franchisees in Varanasi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Aligarh, Moradabad, Meerut and Bareilly.
