₹50,000-cr port projects in pipeline.

The Shipping Ministry is overseeing implementation of 33 projects worth ₹32,000 crore, while 45 projects with an investment of around ₹18,414 crore are under operation, Parliament was informed recently.

'As on date, 33 public private partnership (PPP) projects having estimated cost of ₹32,001.30 crore and 280.97 million tonnes capacity are under implementation stage,' Minister of State for Shipping P Radhakrishnan said in a written reply to Lok Sabha. Besides, 45 projects with ₹18,414.72 crore investment and 282.52 million tonnes capacity are under operation in major ports across the country, he added.

In a separate query, the Minister said no funds have been allocated so far for setting up two new major ports, one each at Sagar Island in West Bengal and Dugarajapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
