Adani Power says it is India's largest private producer with capacity of 8,620 MW.
Adani Power, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises and part of the Rs. 50,000-crore Adani Group, said it had become the largest private power producer in India with the commissioning of the fourth unit of 660 megawatt (MW) at its power plant at Tiroda in Maharashtra. The overall capacity is 8,620 MW.
Adani Power added 2,640 MW the last financial year, accounting for 15 per cent of the addition of 17,000 MW in India. 'The company has commissioned two 660-MW units in the first quarter, one 660 MW unit in the third and one 660 Mw unit in the fourth of FY14, two each at Tiroda in Maharashtra and Kawai in Rajasthan,' a company statement said. It is developing six power projects across Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
