Adani Ventures into Intra-city Mobility Electrification with E-Bus Supply
Adani Enterprises has ventured into the electric mass mobility sector by submitting bids for the latest tender issued by state-owned Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) for 3,600 electric buses. Teaming up with consortium partner EKA Mobility, Adani has proposed to procure, supply, operate, maintain, and develop allied electric and civil infrastructure for electric buses on a gross contracting basis under the Pradhan Mantri e-bus Sewa initiative.
Competing alongside Adani are other contenders such as JBM Ecolife, Greencell Mobility, and PMI Electro Mobility, all vying for the significant tender. Notably, EKA Mobility (Pinnacle Industries) has received approval under the INR 25,000 crore production-linked incentive scheme announced by the Centre for the auto and auto component sector.
As of the time of this report, Adani Enterprises, EKA Mobility, and CESL have not responded to queries from ET.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Adani Enterprises leads the consortium bidding to supply electric buses for intra-city operations.
