Akhilesh lays foundation stone for DMIC project.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav recently laid foundation stone of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Project along with proposed early bird project at Greater Noida and Integrated Industrial Township under it.

An investment of Rs. 33,000 crore is expected in the industrial township, whose foundation has been laid under the project, and it would provide employment to more than 58,000 workers, Yadav said.

For the development of the integrated industrial township, Greater Noida Authority CEO Rama Raman and DMIC Development Corporation's CEO and MD Amitabh Kant signed an agreement in the presence of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the state government had taken steps for the development of Uttar Pradesh from the very beginning.

Referring to Partnership Summit 2013 organised in Agra last year, he said that more than 1,200 domestic and foreign delegates participated in it.

Yadav added that after the summit, the state government was seriously working at different levels to create an atmosphere for investment.

He said that a letter was sent to the Centre requesting to expedite work to develop industrial areas along with eastern dedicated freight corridor.
