Ambuja Cements Announces ₹1,000 Crore Investment in Jharkhand

Ambuja Cements, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, has unveiled plans to establish a new cement grinding unit in Motia Village, located in Godda district of Jharkhand, with a proposed investment of ₹1,000 crore. The unit, slated to have a capacity of 4.0 MTPA, is contingent upon receiving necessary approvals.

The project is strategically positioned near Adani Power (Jharkhand) Limited as part of a holistic strategy to address fly ash disposal in an environmentally sustainable manner while contributing to the circular economy, as stated by the company in its official release.

Currently, Ambuja Cements operates two cement plants in Jharkhand with a combined capacity of 6 MTPA.

Ajay Kapur, CEO of the Cement Business at Ambuja Cements, expressed optimism about the proposed investment, emphasizing its significance in expanding the company's footprint and fostering socio-economic development in the region. Kapur highlighted Jharkhand's abundant resources, robust infrastructure, and skilled workforce as key factors driving the decision to embark on this project. He reiterated Ambuja Cement's commitment to collaborating closely with the state government to ensure the seamless execution of the project.
