"AmpIn Energy Transition Plans Installation of Renewable Energy Capacity Exceeding 600 MW"

In a groundbreaking move set to reshape India's power landscape in the Eastern region, AmpIn Energy Transition announced recently a substantial investment of ₹3,100 crore. The investment is earmarked for the establishment of renewable energy (RE) projects exceeding 600 megawatts (MW) and an integrated manufacturing facility for solar cells and modules.

AmpIn Energy Transition expressed its commitment to accelerating the renewable energy transition and fostering the adoption of clean energy solutions in the Eastern region. The company plans significant investments in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and the Northeastern states, reflecting its strategic focus on key areas.

In the region, AmpIn Energy Transition boasts the largest solar open access portfolio of around 200 MWp, the largest utility power purchase agreement (PPA) with CESC for a 250 MWp wind-solar hybrid project, and the largest Behind the Meter industrial solar project of 10.5 MW for an industrial customer.

With a diverse portfolio of assets, AmpIn is enabling customers to achieve substantial energy cost savings of about 25-40% while significantly reducing their carbon footprint. The company serves prominent customers across various sectors such as Cement & Steel, IT & Data Centre, Heavy Engineering, FMCG, and Utility through its innovative projects.

AmpIn Energy Transition's MD & CEO, Pinaki Bhattacharyya, highlighted the importance of the integrated solar cell and module manufacturing capacity being established in the region. This initiative is poised to reinforce the momentum towards renewables and contribute to the company's mission of sustainable energy practices.

Notably, AmpIn is also in the process of establishing a state-of-the-art 1.3 gigawatt (GW) solar manufacturing facility in Odisha. This facility is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing India's solar energy ambitions and achieving self-sufficiency in the sector. The strategic location of the manufacturing unit in the Eastern region underscores AmpIn Energy Transition's dedication to contributing to the economic growth of the region, generating job opportunities, and positioning the area as a key player in the renewable energy sector.
