"Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Approves ₹19,037 Crore in New Investments"

In a significant development, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has given its nod to new investments amounting to ₹19,037 crore across various sectors, expected to generate employment for approximately 69,565 individuals. The investments have received prior approval from the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB).

During the cabinet meeting, key decisions were made, including the introduction of a new land allotment policy aimed at facilitating industrial growth in the state. Notable among the approved projects is the allocation of 5,400 acres of land to Ecoren Energy India Ltd for the establishment of 902 MW solar energy plants in Nandyala and YSR districts. Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned the allotment of 2 acres of land to MRK Group for the construction of hotels in the Tirupati district.

Further emphasizing its commitment to renewable energy, the government approved a proposal to establish an 800 MW wind energy plant and allocated an additional 100 acres of land for the establishment of the National Law University in Kurnool district.

One significant announcement made during the meeting is the government's decision to undertake a comprehensive caste-based census. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy stressed the importance of this census in improving the lives of marginalized communities and advancing their social empowerment.

The cabinet also commended the Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha scheme, which has conducted 11,700 camps thus far, encompassing a staggering 6.4 crore medical tests. Over 8,72,000 eye tests were conducted, with approximately 11,300 individuals receiving necessary eye surgeries, and more than 5,22,000 people receiving eyeglasses.

Encouraging active participation, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested that all ministers take part in the upcoming Aarogya Suraksha initiative scheduled to commence from January 1, 2024.

In an effort to enhance public awareness, the cabinet decided to conduct a dedicated campaign for the YSR Aarogyasri program, set to run from November 5 to December 15. This initiative aims to educate the public on the Aarogyasri app and inform them about the availability of free medical treatments for various diseases at designated hospitals.

The cabinet further approved land allotments for the construction of government offices in several districts and allotment of industrial lands measuring less than 50 acres by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC). Additionally, APIIC has been authorized to transform the 1,200 acres of land allotted in the Anakapalli district's Pudimadaka area, originally intended for a thermal power plant, into a green hydrogen zone. This transformation is expected to attract investments of ₹95,000 crore through collaboration with NTPC.

The decisions made by the Andhra Pradesh cabinet reflect the state government's commitment to fostering economic growth, renewable energy, healthcare, and social development, contributing to the overall progress of the region.
