Arcot Council Okays Rs. 3 Crore Infra Works.

Arcot Municipal Council has given approval for carrying out development works worth Rs. 3 crore in the town. The council gave its approval for laying cement roads on Jeevanandam Salai, Tholkappiar Salai, construction of rainwater canals and small culverts. In addition, the council sanctioned Rs. 10 lakh to undertake construction of buildings for a municipal high school, compound wall and repair works at the municipal middle school in Masapettai.

Earlier, at a meeting of the council held recently, which was presided over by chairman R Purushothaman, councilor K A Sundaram suggested that a community hall, a school or a marriage hall be constructed in the housing board phase-II area. On the issue of stray cattle, it was assured that the cattle would be impounded and their owners fined.
