Beautification, development work in karachi

Karachi: Beautification and development work has been undertaken around Lilly Bridge, also known as Fatima Jinnah Bridge in Clifton. “A small pocket had been undertaken as a model project near Shell House.

The beautification and infrastructure work is being shared by Saddar town and [a multinational oil company],” said Imran Mirza, the project in-charge and chairman parks, Saddar town. The TMA Saddar has spent approximately ten million rupees and 1.5 million rupees were donated by the MNC.

Roads, carpeting, sewage lines, traffic signboards and tree plantations were done by the town, while pavements, electric poles paint, flower pots, benches and green islands were provided by the MNC. The road leading from PSO House to Cantt Station would be given a face lift with small safety islands, new pavements and yellow brick walls similar to the ones in Clifton. A bus stop would be set up soon, with separate benches for men and women.

The pilot project is almost done and will soon be inaugurated by the city nazim. More development and beautification projects in Clifton will have a yellow theme. “We planned the yellow theme based on Clifton Bridge,” Mirza explained.
