Bharti Enterprises to invest Rs. 3,000-4,000 cr in West Bengal over next 3-4 years.

Bharti Enterprises recently committed to round of fresh investments of ₹3,000-4,000 crore over the next three to four years in West Bengal.

Last year, Bharti had committed to an investment of ₹ 3,500 crore over the next three years in West Bengal.

Around ₹ 1,500 crore of investments has already been made in the last one year, Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman of the group, said at the Bengal Global Business Summit.

'Going ahead we will invest ₹3,000-4,000 crore in the State over the next three to four years,' he added.

According to Mittal, the State should opt for an 'uniform policy' when it comes to right of vat charges. As of now, Bengal has the highest such charge when compared to other States.

This apart, he also sought the government's intervention in allowing telecom towers to be set up on State Government buildings.

'The State Government should look into these areas too for (telecom) connectivity,' he said.
