Blue Energy Motors Unveils Electric Heavy-Duty Truck with Battery Swapping Technology.
Blue Energy Motors (BEM), one of India’s leading green truck manufacturers, recently unveiled its electric heavy-duty truck featuring battery swapping technology. The launch took place at the company's Chakan facility in Pune and was officiated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
In a major step toward decarbonizing freight transport, Chief Minister Fadnavis also inaugurated India’s first electric corridor along the Mumbai–Pune route. The corridor marks the beginning of a broader plan to electrify all major national highway corridors within the next three years, aligning with India's Net Zero goals and efforts to build a cleaner and more efficient freight ecosystem.
The newly launched truck is backed by advanced technology designed to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) in the industry, according to BEM. The company is responding to strong market demand and has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for over 10,000 electric trucks.
Earlier, BEM signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to establish a new manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 30,000 trucks. The project involves an investment of ₹3,500 crore and is expected to significantly boost the state’s green mobility manufacturing ecosystem.
