Bosch India opens power tools facility

Bosch India has formally inaugurated a power tools plant near Chennai.

According to a press release from the company, the two-acre plant at Oragadam, will manufacture products for Bosch’s Power Tools business division.

This is its 15th manufacturing facility in India, said a press release from the company.

The new unit will manufacture angle grinders, impact and rotary drills, rotary hammers, marble cutters, air blowers, including motors for all the tools.

The release quoting Steffen Berns, Managing Director of Bosch Ltd and President of Bosch Group in India, said: “In line with our local-for-local strategy, this plant will cater mainly to the requirements in India with a small share of exports to Asia, Middle East and Africa.”
