CCI Clears Four Laning of Kashipur-Sitarganj Section of NH-74 in Uttarakhand and UP

The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure today approved the development of four laning of Kashipur-Sitarganj Section of NH-74 in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh under NHDP Phase IV on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis in BOT (Toll) mode of delivery. The total length of the road will be 77.20 kms.

The total cost of the project including land acquisition, rehabilitation and pre-construction activities will be Rs.685.84 crore. The concession period will be 21 years including construction period of 30 months.

The main object of the project is to expedite the improvement of infrastructure in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and also in reducing the time and cost of travel for traffic, particularly heavy traffic, plying between Kashipur-Sitarganj. The National Highway NH-74 is an important link connecting rapidly growing industrial and commercial hubs like Haridwar, Kashipur, Udhamsingh Nagar of Uttarkhand and Bareilly and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. It will also increase the employment potential for local labourers for project activities.

The project is covered in the districts of Udhamsingh Nagar in Uttarkhand and in Rampur and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh.
