CDA to start work on more avenues
Islamabad: Following the opening of two signal-free avenues in the city, Capital Development Authority (CDA) will soon initiate construction work on three more main avenues, including 11th, 10th and 6th Avenue, an official said on Monday.
He said the CDA would start construction work on signal-free and four-lane 11th Avenue in March, as it had already worked out on layout plan and cost of the project. In the first phase of project, 3.75-kilometre long road at the cost of Rs 362 million will be constructed, he said, adding that 11th Avenue, to be constructed in one year, would link Khayaban-e-Iqbal with Margalla Road while passing through sectors G-10 and G-11.
He said the CDA would soon hire consultants to design PC-1 of the project under which five underpasses passing through Kashmir Highway, sectors F-10 and F-11, Nazimuddin Road, Ibn-e-Sena Road and Sohan Road, would also be built. “The Authority will shortly invite bids from the interested construction companies,” the official said.
