Ceremonial Hall Coming up at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
With the restoration works at the Rashtrapati Bhavan more or less over, President Pranab Mukherjee has decided to add a completely new wing to the exiting Presidential estate on Raisina Hill -- a grand new ceremonial hall that can accommodate a large gathering.
The upcoming hall can be used to host formal ceremonies for visiting Heads of State, particularly during rainy season.
Work on the new structure, where even swearing-in ceremony with large gatherings could be conducted, will start soon, the President said. It should be noted here that the Rashtrapati Bhawan forecourt had to be used for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's massive swearing-in ceremony on May 26. Next time round, the ceremonial hall would be able to accommodate such a gathering.
