Citroën Unveils Ambitious Network Expansion in 2024 to Drive Sales Surge

French automaker Citroën is gearing up for a substantial boost in its sales and service outlets, aiming to invigorate its market presence with an extensive network expansion alongside the introduction of new vehicle models. As part of its Network Expansion Programme, designed to broaden Citroën's accessibility to consumers beyond tier-I and tier-II cities, the company is set to increase the number of sales and service touchpoints to 200 by the conclusion of 2024, a notable surge from the current count of approximately 58 outlets.

According to a statement released by the company, this expansion initiative represents a staggering 400 percent growth in the network, with the establishment of new dealerships slated for urban, semi-urban, and rural markets across the country. Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroën India, emphasized the company's strategic focus on tier-III and tier-IV markets, chosen for their proximity to major urban centers and their potential for significant growth. These markets, characterized by burgeoning consumer bases, are seen as key to enhancing accessibility to Citroën's range of products and services.

Presently, Citroën offers four models in the Indian market—ë-C3, C3 Aircross SUV, C3, and C5 Aircross SUV. Despite challenges posed by the ongoing fiscal year, the company managed to achieve sales of approximately 7,400 units in the Indian market, while also exporting close to 2,700 units of SUVs manufactured in India.

Earlier this year, the Citroën group announced an additional investment of ₹2,000 crore under its Citroën brand, signaling a commitment to further strengthen its foothold in the Indian automotive market.
