"CM Khattar Unveils New Underpass at Vatika Chowk, Gurugram"

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the newly constructed underpass at Vatika Chowk during a ceremony held on Friday, according to officials. Spanning a length of 0.822 kilometres, the underpass was completed at a cost of Rs. 109.14 crore by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) in collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India.

Designed to alleviate traffic congestion, the underpass is strategically positioned at Vatika Chowk on the Gurugram-Badshahpur Road, offering relief to commuters navigating the Southern Peripheral Road and Golf Course Extension Road.

Addressing the audience at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Khattar commended the expeditious execution of development projects in Gurugram. He highlighted the timely and budget-compliant completion of the Vatika Chowk underpass, emphasizing its potential to catalyze Gurugram's overall development.

Khattar noted the significant progress in infrastructural development over the past nine years, citing the construction of 16 underpasses and the rise in the number of flyovers, including railway overbridges, from eight to 24. This, according to the chief minister, has not only enhanced connectivity but also resulted in time and fuel savings for the residents.

Providing insight into the broader infrastructural landscape, Khattar disclosed that Gurugram has witnessed the initiation of 58 road projects, covering a total distance of 245 kilometres, with a budget allocation of Rs 1,747 crore. Many of these projects have been successfully completed, while others are currently in progress.

Highlighting the Haryana government's strategic vision, Khattar mentioned the ongoing plan to develop five new cities along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway.

Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh echoed Khattar's sentiments, emphasizing that the robust network of roads, flyovers, and underpasses developed over the last nine years has played a pivotal role in Gurugram's comprehensive growth and development.
